2017 Genes in Space winners' experiments launched to the International Space Station
We're in space again! The 2017 Genes in Space winning experiments, designed by Elizabeth (Liza) Reizis and Sophia Chen, launched aboard NASA's 14th Commercial Resupply Service mission (CRS-14) from Kennedy Space Center on April 2nd, 2018. Liza and Sophia along with their mentors, family, and members of the Genes in Space team watched the launch from Florida. The next day they were treated to a tour of Kennedy Space Center. Check out the gallery below for pictures of the trip.
The excitment isn't over. After a brief trip, Liza and Sophia's experiments are now safely aboard the International Space Station and will be conducted over the next few weeks. Stay tuned to Genes in Space on social media for updates.
