Isabel Jiang, the 2023 Genes in Space winner recently got the chance to sit down with Amy Thompson, staff writer at the ISS National Lab, to discuss her experience as she prepares to launch her experiment to space this summer.
She explains the threat of retrotransposon activation - mobile sections of DNA that are the focus of her proposal, the evolution of her investigation since being crowned the winner back in August, and her plans once she finishes high school.
