Video: Astronaut Bob "Farmer" Hines completes the 2021 winning experiment

SpX-25 returned to Earth last weekend, and with it came the samples from the Genes in Space-9 mission, the investigation that sprang from our 2021 winning experiment. Completed by Astronaut Bob "Farmer" Hines over three weeks following the experiment's launch on July 14, this experiment tested a new way to detect water contamination aboard spacecraft.

As he was carrying out the experiment, Farmer found time to record a greeting for Selin Kocalar, the student behind this investigation. Listen in below. The photos that follow capture Farmer — and his guides on the ground at miniPCR bio headquarters — at work in the lab.
